 Kevin Kim, M.D.
Dr. Kevin Kim is an Assistant Professor of Radiology and Surgery at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He is also Director of Interventional Radiology Fellowship. Dr. Kim completed his medical training obtaining an M.D. from the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, VA., after attending Harvard University and the University of California at Berkeley. Subsequently, Dr. Kim completed his residency training in Diagnostic Radiology at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston / MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX. He continued his subspecialty training in Vascular and Interventional Radiology at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. After fellowship training at Johns Hopkins, Dr. Kim joined the faculty of the Department of Vascular and Interventional Radiology at Johns Hopkins.
His clinical and research interests include treatment of uterine fibroids using the most advanced and least invasive techniques. He treats symptomatic uterine fibroids with uterine fibroid embolization (UFE), Cryotherapy, Radiofrequency Ablation and also conducts research on treating fibroids with MR-guided focused ultrasound surgery (MR-g FUS) under magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) guidance. His interests also include leg varicose vein treatment with advanced laser technology, chronic pelvic pain treatment (pelvic congestion syndrome), peripheral vascular disease and renal artery disease treatment, dialysis access interventions and treatment for acute or chronic deep venous thrombosis (blood clots) affecting legs and arms. He has authored and coauthored numerous scientific papers and book chapters. He organizes courses for physicians and lectures at national meetings.
Dr. Kim has Board Certification in Diagnostic Radiology and Certificate of Added Qualification in Vascular and Interventional Radiology by the American Board of Radiology. He is a member of the Society of Interventional Radiology, Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiological Society of Europe, Association of University Radiologists, American College of Radiology, Radiological Society of North America, American Heart Association and American Roentgen Ray Society.
